Thanks to our members and guests attending ADFAS lectures, we are able to continue to support the young arts in the Hunter area.

ADFAS Pokolbin presents a book award to two students at Cessnock East Public School annually. We also donate a book to the library. The winners are selected by the school staff from both the senior and junior schools. Our award is titled “ Inspired Learners”.  After two years of being unable to attend due to restrictions, it was wonderful to be able to present these awards in person.

A copy of our invitation to attend and a photograph of the winners is included below.

ADFAS Pokolbin Young Arts Program provides an opportunity for students at our local Public Schools to experience art, culture and performance at its best! Some of the schools events require funded travel to Sydney for guided tours of art exhibitions or to experience a performance at the Opera House. Others are locally based involving touring art performances, exhibitions and local art events. Our aim is to encourage the young students to enjoy music, theatre and the arts in all its forms.

As well as direct donations from members, we conduct raffles at lecture nights, and organise special functions such as movie outings been very active over the past few years in its support of this Program, the object of which is to inspire young people to adopt an enthusiasm for the Arts.

REASON TO CELEBRATE!

ADFAS Pokolbin and its members provided funds to assist the children of Cessnock East Public School at the Choral Festival at the Sydney Opera House in October 2022.

They are very appreciative of our involvement in these Arts Projects. See pic. The enthusiasm is overwhelming.
